I was contacted by Jacob Betts over at the 405th early in 2011 about working together on a 405th Unity Project. The idea was to create a helmet among several members of the forums and donate the helmet to Child's Play Charity, where the helmet would be auctioned off and the proceeds would go towards improving the lives of children in hospitals around the world. We made the helmet with the standard pepakura method with cardstock, fiberglass, and bondo. It took several months for the helmet to hop from state to state, but it was finally completed and a lovely display stand was made by Sean Bradley and signed by many of the folks at Bungie. This helmet ended up selling for nearly $2000, which made it even more rewarding to make.
This helmet was made with the pepakura method.
