Maker Faire 2013
Shawn Thorsson was at it again this year, with a booth and display bigger and better than ever. We combined the things we liked about the first two years, and brought new things to the exhibit as well. Modules were added, nets were hung, and Spartan and Space Marine stood guard side by side above the booth bestowing their blessings upon us. One of the coolest additions in particular was a gun rack for our troopers to place their weapons on. When the time came for little kids to swarm around the booth, the rack proved invaluable as they were constantly begging to place their paws on our big guns. Helmets housed hundreds of heads too, and required a thorough disinfecting when the faire was over. Listening to Adam Savage speak was also rather interesting, as I wore my Dredd helmet and frown to go see him. At one point he stopped in the middle of his speech, pointed at me, and said "look, it's Judge Dredd! Nice helmet!" and faces and cameras proceeded to point in my direction. It was also a nice surprise to see Grant Imahara stop by the booth to talk props for a bit. All in all, another successful year.
